A tragic case of betrayal and violence has emerged from the Federal Capital Territory, as a school security guard, David Moses, has confessed to the kidnapping and murder of a staff nurse, Chinyere Anaene, and a 14-month-old child, Nanenther Asher Yese.
The victims were both attached to Clear Hope Foundation Academy in the Dawaki area of Abuja. Moses, who was employed as a security guard at the school, made the shocking confession at the FCT Police Command on Friday, August 1, 2025.
According to Moses, he conspired with an accomplice, identified as Sunday Irimiya, to carry out the crime on July 23. The duo initially demanded ₦250 million in ransom from the victims’ families but later settled for ₦3 million, which they successfully collected.
“What brought me here is that I killed a child with a nurse in the school on July 23. Me and my friend, we demanded for ₦250 [million] ransom. Later on, we settled for ₦3 million, which we collected,” he said during the police interrogation.
Moses disclosed that a disagreement over the ransom money turned violent, leading to his partner stabbing him and fleeing with the entire amount.
Struggling for help, he approached a local resident and eventually surrendered to the police after being taken to a hospital for treatment.
