SEVEN years after a father was shot dead while walking to a shop with his teenage son, the man accused of carrying out the killing has been arrested, according to court records.
Jeremiah Bryant, 39, has been charged with murder and is being held in Harris County Jail in connection with the 2018 shooting of 46-year-old Michael Lawson.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on 15 August 2018 in the 15800 block of Clarke Springs. Lawson and his 17-year-old son were walking to a convenience store near Clarke Springs Drive and Reddy Lane when a small vehicle pulled up alongside them.
An occupant of the car opened fire, striking Lawson four times and killing him at the scene.
Court filings identify Bryant as the alleged gunman. Records show he was taken into custody on Thursday morning and remains in jail.
