THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has paraded seven male suspects today in connection with various crimes, including the vandalism of critical national infrastructure and the theft of telecommunications equipment worth millions of naira.
Among those presented to the media at the Command’s headquarters in Alausa were three Togolese nationals, aged 27 and 32, who had deserted the Togolese Army and were apprehended in the Badagry area of Lagos State.

State Commandant, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, fnarc, disclosed that the arrests were made possible through intelligence gathered from community stakeholders and security partners.
“Following consistent community engagements with stakeholders in the state, the Command received credible intelligence through the Okun Ajah Community and Proton Security Ltd and responded swiftly,” Commandant Keshinro stated.
MTN Cable Vandalism
The Commandant revealed that two male suspects were arrested at 2:51pm on Saturday, 27 June 2026, for allegedly vandalising MTN armoured cables. The pair was apprehended with a shuttle bus, locally known as “korepe,” bearing Benue State registration number MUS109YH.
Mr Keshinro noted that two additional suspects connected to the incident remain at large, with operatives actively pursuing their arrest. The vandalised armoured cables, valued at several million naira, have been recovered.

Multiple Incidents Across the State
In a separate operation on Friday, 26 June 2026, NSCDC operatives arrested a male suspect in Sogunle for damaging transformer cables. Another male suspect was apprehended at 4:00pm on Saturday, 15 June 2026, for stealing eight lithium batteries on Orchid Road in Lekki. Investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest accomplices believed to be at large.
Additionally, a male suspect arrested on 7 April 2026 in Banana Island for the theft of an RRU inverter cable is currently undergoing prosecution.
Togolese Deserters Handed Over
The three Togolese brothers, who deserted their national army, were found and arrested by Badagry operatives of the Command. They have been handed over to the appropriate government agency for further investigation.
Other suspects arrested in the Badagry area for illegal migration have been transferred to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command.

Stern Warning to Vandals
Commandant Keshinro took the opportunity to issue a stern warning to those engaged in vandalism and economic sabotage, stating that such acts bring hardship and strain upon innocent citizens.
“We warn vandals to desist from their dastardly act of economic sabotage, which brings harshness, hardness, agony and strain upon the innocent citizens, or face the full weight of the law,” he declared.

The suspects, aged between 27 and 44 years, will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
