A 52-year-old businessman, Ejiofor Godwin Emeka, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano, after 127 wraps of cocaine concealed in his private parts and stomach were recovered following several days of excretion observation.
Ejiofor, who runs boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was apprehended upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, via Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 941 on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, following credible intelligence. A body scan confirmed that he had ingested illicit drugs and concealed others in his private parts.

A total of 58 wraps of cocaine were initially recovered from his underwear, after which he was placed under excretion observation. He subsequently expelled 69 additional pellets in seven excretions, bringing the total to 127 wraps weighing 1.388 kilograms.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives in Lagos intercepted three consignments of illicit drugs destined for the United Kingdom on Thursday, 9th, and Friday, 10th October. One shipment contained 1.74 kg of methamphetamine concealed in blocks of glass ceramics; another held 114 grams and 168 grams of pentazocine and tramadol injections respectively; while a third comprised 48 grams of tramadol capsules hidden inside a Vitamin C container.
Further attempts by criminal syndicates to export 2.6 kg of skunk and 422 grams of tapentadol disguised as black soap tablets to Turkey; 169 grams of cocaine hidden in ladies’ handbags bound for Australia; and 568 grams of ‘Loud’, a potent strain of cannabis, concealed in herbal containers headed for the United Arab Emirates, were also thwarted.
At the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, NDLEA officers intercepted 27,510 pills of rohypnol disguised in sachets of alcoholic drinks bound for South Africa. Two suspects—a freight agent and a cab driver—were initially arrested, leading to a follow-up operation at Oyingbo Market, where the mastermind, 46-year-old Samuel Omoruyi (alias Yellow), was apprehended on 2nd October.
The same day, Enehizena Augustine Uyimwen, an Italy-based businessman, was arrested while attempting to export 3,700 pills of tramadol (225mg) and 2,600 tablets of tapentadol (200mg) hidden in food items to Europe. He claimed he was trafficking the drugs for another person for a fee of €945.
In Edo State, a raid on the residence of Emmanuel Sunday (33) at Ugbekpe Ekperi in Etsako Central LGA led to the recovery of 47 kg of skunk. Similarly, in Osun State, two suspects, Nureni Ayobami Eleweodo (48) and Oladejo Taiwo (52), were arrested at Omifufun village, Ife South LGA, following the seizure of 635 kg of skunk from their Toyota Hiace bus. Two others, Timothy Omiwole (41) and Isaac Achiatan (36), were caught at the same location with 100 kg of skunk and a motorcycle.
In Rivers State, Okoro Julius (20) and Onyebuchi Nwibo (25) were arrested in connection with 8.5 kg of skunk, while in Katsina State, Sulaiman Kalalu (46) was nabbed after 29.5 kg of the same substance was found in his house at Bayan Asiti, Jibia Town.
In Niger State, NDLEA officers on Wednesday, 8th October, arrested Yisa Daniel (29) at New Bussa, where 22,000 capsules of tramadol, 800 ampoules of pentazocine injection, and 150,000 pills of Exol-5 were seized. In Ondo State, 312 kg of skunk was recovered from a bush at Ologede Camp, Ogbese, while operatives on patrol along the Benin–Lagos Expressway on Thursday, 9th October, intercepted two suspects, Francis John (39) and Adeyemi Taiwo (46), with 141.8 kg of skunk in their vehicle.
