In a press statement released on Wednesday, the Command described the officer’s conduct as “unprofessional and unbecoming of a police officer.”

Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered a full investigation into the incident and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of policing.

While confirming that the officer has been arrested, detained, and queried, Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe, reiterated that the Command will not tolerate any breach of discipline or abuse of firearms.

“The protection of life and property in the state remains our utmost priority,” the statement emphasised.
