THE Anambra State Police Command has announced that operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, in collaboration with officers from the Neni Divisional Headquarters, carried out a coordinated operation on the evening of 8 December 2025.
The operation, which formed part of a follow-up investigation into a case of conspiracy and armed robbery, led to the successful arrest of five male suspects linked to the vandalism and theft at an international company in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, items recovered from the suspects included one pump-action gun, ten live cartridges, and a black motorcycle.
The suspects were identified as:
- Okemili Chikwado, 20;
- Collins Nwakpa, 23;
- Chukwuemeka Igboke, 18;
- Nwali Chinedu, 18;
- and Ekene Nwakwo, 22.
It was learnt that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and named one Arinze as the primary receiver of the stolen property.
SP Ikenga added that investigation is ongoing, and efforts are underway to apprehend other fleeing suspects and recover the stolen and vandalised equipment.
