Troops Foil Easter Sunday Attack, Free 31 Hostages, Kill 5 Terrorists in Kaduna

Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully foiled a terrorist attack in Ariko Village, Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State, rescuing 31 civilians who were abducted during an Easter church service.

The attack occurred at an ECWA Church during Easter celebrations, prompting a distress call that mobilised troops to the scene.

Acting swiftly with the support of local community members, soldiers engaged the terrorists in a firefight, forcing them to release the hostages, including one injured individual who is currently receiving medical attention.

Tragically, the remains of five victims killed by the attackers were recovered at the site.

Observers noted signs that the fleeing terrorists sustained significant casualties, with blood trails marking their escape routes.

In response, the Nigerian Army has intensified operations to track the attackers to their enclaves, with additional troops deployed to reinforce security, prevent further attacks, and recover any remaining captives.

The army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens and defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity, pledging sustained offensive operations in collaboration with other security agencies and local stakeholders.

The public has been urged to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that community vigilance is crucial for lasting peace and stability.
