TROOPS of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded significant gains in sustained offensive operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents, neutralising fighters, arresting suspects and disrupting key logistics networks across the theatre between 31 March and 4 April 2026.
In a major breakthrough, troops under Sector 2, deployed in Geidam alongside operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), acted on credible intelligence to intercept terrorist logistics suppliers. Following a fierce exchange, three insurgents were neutralised, while a vehicle laden with supplies was disabled. Items recovered included foodstuffs, mobile phones and other materials destined for terrorist enclaves.
Elsewhere, troops successfully ambushed insurgents attempting to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs) along the Konduga–Kawuri axis. The swift response triggered an explosion that neutralised two terrorists, with weapons and ammunition recovered from the scene. In a related operation, an IED planted along the Ngoshe–Pulka road was safely detonated, averting potential casualties and ensuring safe passage for civilians and security personnel.
In Adamawa State, troops under Sector 4, working in conjunction with local hunters, carried out operations in Mubi North Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of three Boko Haram/ISWAP members. Preliminary investigations revealed that one suspect had previously gathered intelligence on troop movements and activities. He also confessed involvement in a recent attack that resulted in heavy losses for the insurgents. The suspects are currently in custody for further investigation.
Further successes were recorded at Mainok market, where troops apprehended three terrorist logistics suppliers and recovered livestock, mobile phones and cash, thereby weakening the insurgents’ supply chain.
In Yobe State, troops intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorist elements. Two occupants were found with gunshot wounds believed to have been sustained during earlier encounters with security forces. They were taken into custody along with communication devices for further investigation. Additional operations across the theatre led to the arrest of informants and collaborators attempting to move across borders, as well as the apprehension of a foreign national under suspicious circumstances at a checkpoint.
The military said troops have maintained aggressive dominance within their area of responsibility, effectively denying criminal elements freedom of movement. All operations were conducted without incident, while morale and combat efficiency among personnel remain high.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their resilience, vigilance and professionalism, urging them to sustain the current momentum in the interest of security and economic stability in the North-East region.
