26-Year-Old Nigerian Man Arrested for Killing 2 Women in US

SHOCK has gripped parts of DeKalb County in the United States after a 26-year-old Nigerian man was arrested over a series of brutal early-morning attacks that left two women dead and another victim fighting for his life.

Authorities identified the suspect as Olaolukitan Adon-Abel, who was taken into custody in Troup County after investigators tracked a rental vehicle he was driving using license plate reader technology.

Police say the attacks, described as “completely random,” began shortly after midnight on Monday and occurred at multiple locations.

The first incident happened around 12:50 a.m. outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, where officers found a woman suffering multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital but later died.

Around 2 a.m., a second victim, a 49-year-old unhoused man, was shot multiple times while sleeping outside a Kroger shopping area. He was rushed to hospital and remains in critical condition.

The final attack occurred around 6:50 a.m. on Battle Forest Drive, where 40-year-old Lauren Bullis was attacked while walking her dog.

Police said she was shot and stabbed multiple times, and witnesses reported what appeared to be an attempted sexual assault before the suspect fled.

A neighbour recalled the chaotic scene, saying, “I looked across the street. It was a lady laying down and a man over her, my instinct was to try to help her.”

Investigators later tracked the suspect’s silver Volkswagen Jetta and carried out a felony traffic stop, where he complied with commands and was arrested without resistance.

Adon-Abel faces two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and firearm-related charges. Authorities say the motive remains unknown as investigations continue.
