KEHINDE Thomas has been taken into custody and is set to face charges in Lagos State for allegedly defiling an 11-year old student inside the school premises.
CrimesChroniclers gathered from P.M Express that the incident happened at Teeland Nursery and Primary School, Bariga, Lagos State.
According to reports, Thomas, 58, lured the victim inside one of the classrooms and penetrated her private part without the consent of the victim.
She later revealed what happened to her parents who then reported the matter at Bariga Police Division after which the suspect was arrested.
He was detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged defilement.
When he was arraigned, our source said the court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, who asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand in the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The defendant was therefore, remanded in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
