A Nigeria Police Force officer has fled after allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl inside Ogudu Police Station in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial capital.
The rape suspect was said to have promised to help the teenager retrieve her stolen phone.

But rather than do as promised, the police officer locked the girl in his office, threatened her with a gun, and raped her.
However, the victim’s mother, Mrs. Aramide Olupona, has accused the police of making an attempt to throw the matter under the carpet.
“The suspect’s wife and family have come to my shop to plead with me, but what about my daughter who was raped?
“The Area Commander invited me and pleaded with me to bury the case, but my daughter needs justice,” the suspect’s mother disclosed.
CrimesChroniclers reports that the police have claimed that the suspect has fled and his whereabouts are unknown.
Meanwhile, the victim’s mother has called for justice from civil society and other Nigerians.
“My girl is distraught and has said she wants to commit suicide.
“I want the police to take action and bring the perpetrator to book,” she pleaded.
