A middle-aged man has blamed President Bola Tinubu for his action after he was caught with a sack of stolen yam from a farm in Ekiti State following the acute hardship in Nigeria.
I Love Ekiti, a Facebook page from which Stonix News gleaned the story from on Thursday, said the local thief said he harvested the tubers of yam from a farm at Irekanmi Community, Afao Road, Ado Ekiti.

The report added that the thief in yellow round neck T-shirt, whose name was not mentioned in the video, was caught in the very act of stealing tubers of yam in the owner’s farm.
The culprit was, however, quoted as blaming President Tinubu for his action.

In the video, the culprit was seen seated on the ground with the sack of stolen tubers of yam in front of him while a barrage of questions from the people who caught him rented the air.
The culprit is said to have been handed over to operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in-charge for the axis, for further investigation.
The incident has further underscored the acute hunger and privation in Nigeria since the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira in May 2023 when President Tinubu assumed power.
