Australia authorities begin search for suspect who poured hot liquid on infant

AUSTRALIA authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect who allegedly poured hot liquid on a 9-month-old infant last month.

CrimesChroniclers reports that the incident, which occurred on Aug. 27 at Hanlon Park in Queensland, Australia, sparked a national and international manhunt.

Queensland Police Service said the suspect, described as a 33-year-old foreign national, has since left the county.

Law enforcement, according to NBC News, are working with national and international partner agencies to progress this investigation further.

The suspect was identified by the Morningside Child Protection Investigation Unit.

On the day of the alleged crime, a group of people were approached by a man, unknown to them, who poured hot liquid on the baby boy before running away.

The infant was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The child has since been released from the hospital.

A surveillance video that went viral showed the suspect, running from the scene shortly after the attack.

The man was last seen wearing a black hat, glasses, shirt and shorts.
