A 32-year-old man named Kelvin Dom Emmanuel has been taken into custody and charged in Lagos State for allegedly embezzling N13 million from Day to Day Delight Limited, a business owned by Olukayode Ojo.
The alleged theft occurred at the company’s office located within Atlantic Layout Estate along the Lekki/Epe Expressway in Lagos.
Police reports indicate that Emmanuel had access to the company’s funds and took the money without management’s authorization. The missing amount was discovered following an internal financial audit.
The case was escalated to the Commissioner of Police Special Squad at the State Command in Ikeja. Officers launched an investigation, which led to Emmanuel’s arrest and subsequent detention for questioning.
Following the interrogation, authorities found sufficient grounds to charge him. He was then arraigned before the Ogba Magistrate Court on charges that could carry several years of imprisonment if proven.
He entered a plea of not guilty.
Prosecutor Inspector Akinleye Funmilola requested the Court to set a hearing date, stating that since the defendant denied the charges, the Police would need time to present evidence against him.
