AUTHORITIES are investigating the death of a man at the Burning Man festival in Nevada’s Black Rock City on Saturday.
The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called shortly after 9 p.m. local time following reports of a body discovered at the event. The deceased, described as an adult white male, was found lying in “a pool of blood.”
Burning Man organisers confirmed the victim was a participant. His identity has not yet been released. The body has been transported to the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office for further examination.
In a statement, festival officials said: “Although this act appears to be an isolated crime, all participants should always remain vigilant of their surroundings and acquaintances.”
Deputies interviewed several people in the vicinity, but no arrests have been made at this time.
