How Woman Was Shot Dead By Own 16-Year-Old Daughter In Texas

Death Row Inmate Escapes from Yobe Maximum Security Custodial Centre

A 16-year-old girl has been taken into custody after allegedly shooting her mother in Galveston, Texas.

According to the Galveston Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 5100 block of Avenue Q shortly before 8 pm Thursday, following reports that a woman had been shot multiple times.

On arrival, officers found 34-year-old Tiamoya Moore, who was rushed to the UTMB emergency department but was later pronounced dead. A firearm was recovered at the scene, police confirmed.

While investigating, witnesses informed officers that the suspected shooter may have been Moore’s teenage daughter, who was not present when police arrived. However, the girl returned to the house during the investigation and was taken into custody without incident.

She is currently being held at the Jerry J. Esmond Juvenile Justice Centre.

Police said an investigation into the fatal shooting remains ongoing.
