Delta Police, Operation Delta Sweep Kill Two Suspected Kidnappers, Recover AK-47

Two Sisters Stage Kidnap Plot, Demand Ransom From Dad

TWO suspected kidnappers have been shot dead in Boji-Boji Owa, Delta State, after a joint operation by the police and men of Operation Delta Sweep on Wednesday, 17 September.

The operation, which took place around 11:00 a.m., followed intelligence received by the Divisional Police Officer of Owa-Oyibu.

Acting swiftly, a combined team of police officers, vigilantes and Operation Delta Sweep operatives stormed the Nniogbo Owa-Ekei bush, where the suspects were reportedly hiding.

According to the police, the suspects opened fire on sighting the operatives, but were subdued in the ensuing gun battle.

Both men sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to Owa-Alero General Hospital, where doctors confirmed them dead.

Items recovered from the scene include one AK-47 rifle, 40 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition and two magazines.

Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said a manhunt has been launched for other fleeing suspects.
