OPERATIVES of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three individuals suspected of engaging in vote buying during the Anambra State governorship election on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
The suspects — identified as Emeka Ilokasia, apprehended at Ward 2, Njikoka Local Government Area; Nwachukwu Loretta, arrested at Ward 2 (008), Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area; and Emuka Chuwudi, nabbed at Umunachi Village, Dunukofia Local Government Area — were reportedly caught in the act at various polling units.
According to the Commission, the arrests were part of its ongoing efforts to curb electoral malpractices and ensure transparency in Nigeria’s democratic process.
The EFCC further disclosed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
