THE Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has handed over 30 new Toyota Hilux patrol vehicles to the state’s Police Command.

The move forms part of a sustained drive to bolster security operations and enhance public safety across the state.
The presentation ceremony was held on Thursday evening at the Old Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.
The event also saw the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutogu, formally introduce a cohort of newly commissioned officers.
While handing over the keys, Governor Soludo stated that the gesture underscored his administration’s continued commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in its mission to improve security. He urged the new officers to uphold the highest ideals, challenging them to truly embody the state’s slogan by being “a Light to the Nation” through exemplary service, discipline, and professionalism.
The Governor further emphasised the critical importance of dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to duty in maintaining peace and security.

In his remarks, CP Orutogu affirmed that the infusion of new patrol vehicles, alongside the fresh deployment of officers, would significantly boost police visibility, slash response times, and improve overall operational efficiency throughout Anambra.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Secretary to the State Government, the Principal Secretary to the Governor, the Chief of Staff, and senior officers from the Anambra State Police Command.
