THE Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, has commenced a familiarisation tour of Area Commands across the state, beginning with the Asaba Area Command, as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance stakeholder engagement and deepen police–community relations.

During the visit, CP Adesola was received by the Area Commander, Asaba, ACP Alex Udeze, alongside senior officers, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and personnel under the command.

Addressing officers and men, the Commissioner charged them to remain professional, disciplined and proactive in the discharge of their duties.

He stressed the importance of intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights and effective service delivery, noting that these principles remain critical to building public trust and ensuring sustainable security across the state.

The Commissioner of Police also held interactive sessions with key stakeholders within the Asaba metropolis, including traditional rulers, community leaders, youth representatives, transport unions and members of the business community.

He called for sustained collaboration and collective responsibility in tackling security challenges within the area.

As part of the tour, CP Adesola paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, where he was received by His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof) Epiphany Chibuogu Azinge, SAN, OON, and members of the traditional council.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation for the continuous support of the traditional institution to the Nigeria Police Force and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to partnership in promoting peace, safety and public confidence.

The familiarisation tour, according to the Command, will extend to other Area Commands across Delta State. It forms part of CP Adesola’s broader strategy to assess operational needs, boost morale among officers and reinforce community-oriented policing in the state.
