Remains of Three Children Found in Anambra Female Native Doctor’s Home

Three children have been found dead in the home of a female native doctor in Umuduba village, Ideani Community of Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The lifeless bodies of the children said to be between 6 and 15 years were found inside the residence of a woman popularly known in the area as an Ezenwanyi, Prophetess of Goddess.

According to reports, a fourth child was rescued alive with the intervention of the President General of Ideani Community, Chief Paul Okoye in company of the Divisional Police Officer, Ogidi Division and rushed to a hospital, where she is currently receiving medical treatment.

The prophetess was later taken away by police operatives who arrived the scene together with the Chairman of Idemili North Local Government Area Mr Stanley Nkwoka.

The spokesperson for the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, August 5.

Ikenga stated that the command has aunched a full-scale investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths of the children.

The PPRO also confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

He extended the command’s condolences to the families of the deceased and sympathised with the community over the incident.

He urged the public to remain calm, refrain from spreading unverified information, and allow the Police to conclude their investigations.
