Pregnant Woman, Children Rescued As Police Bust ‘Baby Factory’ in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has dismantled an alleged ‘baby factory’ at Abaren Village, Mowe, rescuing two pregnant women and four children.

The Deputy Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Oluborode Emmanuel Opeyemi, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

According to the spokesperson, the operation, conducted on August 24, led to the arrest of six suspects, including a nurse.

The rescued pregnant women were identified as Ilesanmi Foluke, 23, who is seven months pregnant, and eight months pregnant Ejekwa Melody, 20.

Further intelligence-led follow-up operations led operatives to a hospital within the Mowe axis, where a mother, Blessing Bright Effiong, had given birth to a baby boy.

The newborn could not be accounted for, prompting the arrest of the attending nurse.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and to locate the missing newborn.
