NDLEA Operative Stabbed to Death in Bauchi

AN operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Bauchi State has been stabbed to death by an unidentified person.

The operative was reportedly stabbed in the stomach on Tuesday, 8 September, while carrying out official duties alongside other personnel at Anguwan Zango, Tilden Fulani, in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Residents of the area said the anti-drug officials had stormed the Zango area of Tilden Fulani, where hoodlums were known to smoke cannabis and take other dangerous drugs.

The officials had arrested one of the hoodlums and were taking him away when others resisted.

One of the hoodlums allegedly used a sharp object to stab the NDLEA operative while attempting to resist the arrest and free the suspect.

The hoodlums reportedly fled the scene after the incident, leaving the NDLEA operatives to attend to their injured colleague, who later died from complications arising from the injury.

The Bauchi State Police Command has since launched a manhunt for the suspect.
