THE Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dealt another significant blow to organised crime, recovering two FN FAL rifles and a cache of live ammunition during a targeted operation in a forest hideout.
In a follow-up investigation stemming from the arrest of four suspects for supplying arms, ammunition, and illicit substances to bandits—who were paraded at Command Headquarters on 11th July 2026—operatives from the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted a precision operation on 2nd August based on credible intelligence provided by one of the suspects, Musbahu Ishaq.
The operation led officers to Dajin Madam Forest, situated between Plateau and Bauchi States, where investigations revealed the criminal syndicate maintained one of its operational hideouts.
Further inquiries established that Musbahu Ishaq procured arms and ammunition from one Rabiu Hassan and supplied them to Baba Alhaji Sanusi, a suspected bandit kingpin currently at large and believed to be evading capture in a forest in Katsina State.
A thorough search of the hideout resulted in the recovery of two FN FAL rifles and live ammunition, which had been concealed within the forest location.
Investigation Ongoing
Police investigations are continuing to apprehend the remaining members of the criminal syndicate currently at large, recover additional arms linked to the network, and ensure all suspects are charged before a competent court of law.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to intelligence-led policing and assured residents that ongoing operations would persist until every member of the syndicate was apprehended and brought to justice.
