Police Deploy Tactical Teams to Tackle Ogwashi-Uku Crime

THE Delta State Police Command has redeployed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogwashi-Uku and deployed tactical teams to combat rising cases of kidnapping and armed robbery in the area.

Commissioner of Police (CP) Olufemi Abaniwonda ordered the immediate deployment in response to complaints circulating on social media.

He directed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aina Adesola to oversee the operation, with tactical teams drawn from Dragon Patrol, Eagle-Net, and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) stationed at strategic locations.

The Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber-Crime Squad (SAKCCS) has also been tasked with intelligence-driven policing to track down and arrest suspected criminals.

Additionally, operatives from the State Intelligence Department (SID) will carry out undercover surveillance.

Reassuring residents, CP Abaniwonda stated: “The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety of all Delta State residents.

“We urge the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
