Nigerian Customs Officer Completes Epic 35-Day Bike Ride To Belgium

THE Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has lauded the extraordinary achievement of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, popularly known as Tracta 2, who has successfully completed a 35-day motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium.

Ogboru embarked on the remarkable journey on 1 August 2025, covering an estimated 10,265 kilometres across two continents and ten countries. She arrived at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at precisely 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, 4 September 2025.

According to Abdullahi Maiwada, National Public Relations Officer for the Comptroller-General of Customs, the expedition was themed “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research.” It was designed to promote gender inclusivity, empower the girl child, and foster cultural exchange.

“The expedition is an extraordinary demonstration of courage, resilience and purposeful advocacy,” the NCS said in its statement.

The Service described Ogboru’s accomplishment as a powerful symbol of determination and strength, particularly for Nigerian women breaking new ground in diverse professions. Her arrival at the Brussels mission was celebrated with jubilation, reflecting widespread pride in her perseverance.

Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, hailed her feat, remarking:
