The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly killing his friend and former roommate over Yahoo Yahoo money.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a video made available to Stonix News, where he attributed the rising cases of murder to hot temper and the abuse of illicit substances.

According to Edafe, the suspect and the victim were involved in internet fraud when a disagreement over a transaction escalated into a violent confrontation.
He said the suspect allegedly struck the victim on the head with a sharp object believed to be a shovel or battle axe.
Police said the suspect fled after the incident and threw away the weapon, which operatives are still searching for.
The suspect, who identified himself as Oghenegare, admitted during interview that he killed his childhood friend, Courage, aged 25.
He said both of them were internet fraudsters and that the disagreement started after the victim allegedly denied him access to a job expected to pay nearly $1,000.
Oghenegare claimed he went to the victim’s house with a shovel he bought for N7,000, which he said he usually kept for self-defence after being robbed previously.
He alleged that during the confrontation, the victim attempted to stab him with a sharp object, prompting him to strike back.
The suspect also confessed to being a member of the Eiye Black Axe Confraternity and stated that the deceased was also a cult member.
“The issue started because he logged me out of work that’s supposed to pay us almost $1000 but he has been eating from the work already.
“He brought the work to me on the day the issue happened. The work was supposed to pay on that day. So I asked of the WhatsApp login from him but he refused. I’m a member of Eiye Black Axe Confraternity (cult).
“I went to his house with a sharp shovel that I bought from one man for N7000. I bought the shovel because of thieves because I had been robbed before.

“So the day I went to his house, I saw him outside and confronted him. As we were fighting, he brought out something sharp from his pocket as he wanted to stab me with it, I hit him with the shovel but I don’t know if it was his head that I hit. They rushed him to the hospital and it was discovered that I cut his head. I cut him twice. My friend is also a cultist,” the suspect recounted.
SP Edafe confirmed that the victim was rushed to the hospital after the attack, where he was pronounced dead due to severe head injuries.
The police spokesperson urged parents to properly raise their children and guide them away from crime, cultism and drug abuse, warning that such vices have continued to turn youths into nuisances in society.
