THE Delta State Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue the abducted Chairman of Sapele Local Government Area, following a high-level operational visit by the Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the police chief confirmed that he had conducted an on-the-spot assessment in Sapele as part of a coordinated response aimed at ensuring the victim’s safe and unharmed release.

During the visit, Oyeniyi inspected key locations linked to the abduction, including Debro Fred Guest House, where the incident reportedly took place. He also visited Ogorode Waterside, where the vehicle believed to have been used by the perpetrators was recovered, providing critical leads for ongoing intelligence and forensic investigations.
The commissioner also met with the victim’s family, offering assurances of the command’s commitment to securing his release. He further visited hospitals where individuals injured during the attack are receiving treatment.
Oyeniyi stated that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have deployed significant resources and are acting on credible intelligence to track down those responsible.

He appealed to residents of Sapele and across Delta State to remain vigilant and support ongoing operations by providing timely and useful information.
Reaffirming the command’s resolve, the police assured the public of continued efforts to safeguard lives and property, while vowing to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.
