‎Ughelli Bloods Busted As Police Nab Armed Robbery Duo

‎Rita Enemuru, Reporting

‎‎In a significant blow to criminal elements terrorising the Ughelli axis, operatives of the Delta State Police Command have apprehended two suspected armed robbers, seizing a cache of illicit narcotics in a separate operation on the Ozoro/Oleh highway.

‎The anti-crime onslaught, which occurred on the evening of 14 June, saw the Command’s Anti-Vice Squad, working hand-in-glove with local vigilantes, storm the Okorodafe district of Ughelli. Acting on actionable intelligence, the team swooped on the area at approximately 4:30 pm, bringing 29-year-old Moses Francis into custody.

‎During a tense grilling session, Mr Francis reportedly sang like a canary, confessing to a litany of violent robberies, including a brutal heist on Aro Street, Ughelli, back in April.

Determined to clean up the streets, he led lawmen to a criminal hideout in the city where they nabbed his alleged accomplice, 26-year-old Cosmos Erueseke, at about 5:40 pm the same day.

‎A police source revealed that the duo are currently “helping with enquiries” as detectives race against time to dismantle the entire syndicate and recover the firearms used to terrorise innocent citizens.

‎In a separate dawn raid, officers on stop-and-search duties along the Ozoro/Oleh Expressway intercepted a Toyota Sienna (registration FST 242 YK) at 4:00 am.

However, the crafty driver abandoned the vehicle and made a daring dash into the dense bush, evading capture.

‎A search of the abandoned motor revealed a motherlode of dangerous substances, including large consignments of Codeine, Tramadol, Swinol, Man G, and Vega.
