Sacks containing three AK-49 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, and 207 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition have been recovered from a criminal hideout in Delta State, Nigeria, police authorities say.

SP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, who disclosed this on Friday, said the hideout had been playing host to suspected kidnappers terrorizing Ughelli, Agbarho, Warri, Sapele and environs of the state.
He said the criminal hideout was located deep in the woods at Uwurghelli village by the rail tracks.
Acting on Intel, Edafe said the DPO,, Agbarho Division, CSP Josephine Ekebuike, led police operatives to the bush on Thursday May 30, where the items were recovered.
According to him, after the recovery of the items, the Command has launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspected kidnappers.

He described it as another feat by the command in the fight against crime and criminality in Agbarho and environs.
SP Edafe further quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, as lauding the DPO and men of Agbarho Police Station for their prompt response to the credible information received.
The CP also admonished members of the public to continue to trust and partner with the Nigeria Police, reiterating that “police-community partnership is the best for optimal results.”
