How I sold human skulls to native doctors – suspect

A suspected ritualist, who was trading in human skulls has confessed how he went about the horrific business across the South Western part of Nigeria.

The 37-year-old suspect, Yusuf Adenoyin, made the confession after he was arrested in a car with eight human skulls by the security agents at a police check-point between the Isua and Epinmi in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

He confessed that he usually sold each human skull for N30, 000 to his clients, especially native doctors for ritual purposes in Ondo State and beyond.

He was on his way to deliver the consignment at Osogbo when he ran out of luck.

The suspect was said to have been in the Nissan car with four other passengers when the police personnel attached to the Police Safer Highway Patrol intercepted them at the checkpoint.

He claimed that he was travelling from Okene in Kogi State to Osogbo, Osun State, to deliver the human skulls to a herbalist.

Adenoyin allegedly concealed the skulls inside a sack of garri alongside charms before he was arrested.

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, has confirmed that the suspect is in custody undergoing further interrogation.

“Upon interrogation, Adenoyin, 37, confessed to being the owner of the skulls and explained that he was delivering them to a herbalist named Opeifa in the Oke-Onitea area of Osogbo.

“He equally mentioned other customers he usually supplies human skulls to include Almonso, who lives at Oke-Onitea, Osogbo, Alfaa Agba, who lives at Oke Ontea and also Oshoyemi who resides around the Oja Oba area.

“The suspect further confessed that the human skulls were usually handed over to him by one, Imaila living at Oboroke in Okene, and that each head is being sold for between thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) and thirty-five thousand (N35,000),” he said.

The Police boss further stated that the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) unit in Akure with his case file for further investigations.

Oladipo stated that the suspect would be charged to court under the Criminal Laws of the state but after the conclusion of police investigations.
