High School Shooting Leaves Students, Teachers Dead In Georgia

A mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday, left two students and two teachers dead and approximately 30 others injured.

The 14-year-old suspect has been taken into custody, but, as of when filing this report, it was not clear if the suspect actually attends the school.

CrimesChroniclers gathered that all schools in the district were placed in lockdown, and police were sent out of an abundance of caution to all district high schools, but there are no reports of secondary incidents or scenes.

After the shooting, some of the critically injured were transported by helicopter, while additional helicopters were on standby.

According to CNN, the high school also received a phone call this morning warning there would be shootings at five schools and that Apalachee would be the first.

Law enforcement are scrambling to find answers after the shooting.

“We are asking for your patience. Please let us get the facts that we need to make sure we get this right.

“This is going to take multiple days for us to get answers as to what happened and why this happened,” Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith said at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
