HORROR! Teenage Girl Resists Defilement, Hacked To Death In Ekiti

A 16-year-old girl, who reportedly resisted being defiled by hoodlums, suspected herdsmen has been hacked to death in cold blood by her assailants in Ekiti State.

Reports said that the incident happened on a farm in Emure-Ekiti, Emure Local Government Area of the state.

The teenager was said to be on the farm alongside her brother when the gunmen attacked them.

While the brother escaped from the onslaught, the girl was said to have been overpowered by the hoodlums before she was hacked to death.

A source in the community said, “the girl was in the company of her brother on the farm on Monday when the hoodlums who are herdsmen attacked them.

“The brother managed to escape, being an older person but the young girl was not that fortunate.

“She resisted attempts to rape her before she was hacked with a cutlass.

“I suspected they want to kidnap them because you know the people (herdsmen) are always around here wreaking havoc on us with kidnappings.

“We are calling on the state and federal governments to help us in this area because the activities of these people are on the increase here.

“We want peace and adequate security so that our people can go about their activities especially farming without any fear of attack.”

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ekiti State Command, SP Abutu Sunday, has confirmed the attack.

As usual, he said operatives of the command had been deployed to the area to apprehend the fleeing hoodlums.
