14-Year-Old Hospitalized With Kidney Failure After Brutal Assault By Mother

A 14-year-old boy is currently hospitalized due to severe injuries sustained during a brutal assault, resulting in kidney failure.
His mother, Latosha Clark, 43, and her boyfriend, Nathaniel Lathan, 44, have been charged with injury to a child.
Clark appeared visibly emotional during her arrest. The prosecutor emphasized the severity of the allegations during the initial court hearing.
The assault occurred on March 19 at the boy’s residence, an apartment on East Carrell in Tomball. Initially, Clark claimed her son was attacked outside, but investigators uncovered a different story after speaking with neighbors.
Neighbors reported hearing Clark yelling and the sound of someone being hit with a belt and slammed against the wall. Clark eventually admitted to beating the boy with Lathan using their hands, a belt, and a metal lamp pole.

A bloodied pole was recovered from the home, and disturbing videos of the child being punished were found on Clark’s phone.
The videos showed Clark and Lathan filling the child’s mouth with soap and pouring rubbing alcohol on his face, head, and upper torso, causing clear distress.
Lathan has been released on a $50,000 bond, while Clark remains in jail on a $150,000 bond. If released, she is ordered to have no contact with her children.
Records indicate Clark previously worked at a daycare and served as a bus aide for Klein ISD. She also has an 18-year-old son.
