Greed-Driven Killing Shocks Akwukwu Igbo Community In Delta

POLICE authorities in Delta State have arrested two individuals linked to the shocking murder of Chigozie Udalor, a site engineer who was allegedly killed by his employees in a scheme to access his money.
Two other suspects remain on the run as police intensify efforts to track them down.
The case began on 12 December 2024, when Hyacinth Nnalue reported to the Akwu-kwu Igbo Police Division that his cousin, Chigozie Udalor, had been missing since 10 December. Udalor, who managed a fish farm in Bod Camp, Akwukwu Igbo community, had disappeared without a trace.

Following the report, the case was escalated to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), with Commissioner of Police Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, ordering a meticulous investigation.
This led to a breakthrough on 31 March 2025, when officers arrested David Tacho, who was caught attempting to withdraw money from the victim’s Moniepoint account via his phone. Further interrogations resulted in the arrest of another suspect, Daniel Orshio.
Investigations uncovered a horrifying plot. Udalor’s workers—David Tacho, his brother Victor Tacho, Pius Daniel, and Daniel Orshio—discovered he had funds in his Moniepoint account and conspired to kill him.
The perpetrators reportedly struck Udalor on the head with a hammer, tied him up, and buried him in a shallow grave at the site.
While David Tacho and Daniel Orshio are currently in police custody, the other two suspects, Victor Tacho and Pius Daniel, remain at large.
The victim’s body has since been exhumed for an autopsy, while police continue their manhunt for the remaining fugitives.
