In the early hours of Wednesday, 4 June 2025, security operatives from the Abraka Divisional Police Headquarters, working alongside local vigilantes, engaged and neutralised four armed Fulani men suspected of planning a kidnapping along the Abraka–Benin Expressway in Delta State.

The operation, which commenced at around 2:00am, was based on credible intelligence indicating unusual movements in the vicinity of the Railway Station axis in Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Upon confrontation, the suspects reportedly opened fire, triggering a swift counterattack from the security team.

According to the police, all four men—believed to be between 25 and 30 years old—were killed in the exchange.

Four AK-47 rifles were recovered from the scene, underscoring the significant threat the group posed to public safety.
