Man Charged With Child Sexual Abuse After 11-Year-Old Stepdaughter Gives Birth

AN Oklahoma man has been arrested and charged with child sexual abuse after his 11-year-old stepdaughter gave birth at their home in Muskogee.

Dustin Walker, 34, and his wife, Cherie Walker, 33, were initially arrested last week and charged with one count of felony child neglect each, following the birth of a full-term baby at their home on 16 August, according to court records. The couple had claimed they were unaware of the girl’s pregnancy, and it was revealed that the child had not seen a doctor in over a year.

On Monday, the charges were amended after DNA testing confirmed that Dustin Walker was a 99.9 per cent match as the baby’s father, according to results released by the Muskogee County District Attorney’s Office.

Court documents allege that Dustin Walker sexually abused the girl between 1 January and 16 August, leading to her pregnancy and subsequent childbirth. Cherie Walker has been charged with enabling child sexual abuse.

“This is one of the most – if not the most – serious child sexual abuse and neglect cases I have ever prosecuted,” said Muskogee County Assistant District Attorney, Janet Hutson.

In addition to the abuse charges, the couple now face six counts of felony child neglect. Prosecutors say they failed to provide the 11-year-old with adequate medical care and supervision during her pregnancy and delivery. The other five counts relate to their five younger children, aged two, four, six, seven and nine, who were allegedly subjected to neglect between 1 January and 16 August.

Court documents describe the children as having lived in “deplorable conditions”, with investigators reporting that they were found “living in dog faeces and had no clothing on”.

All six children have since been removed from the home.

Bond has been set at $100,000 each, with a sounding docket hearing scheduled for 3 September.

According to prosecutors, each charge against Dustin and Cherie Walker carries a potential sentence of up to life imprisonment. It remains unclear whether the couple have secured legal representation.
