THE Lagos State Government has announced that Badagry General Hospital has successfully recorded 90 consecutive days without a maternal death.
The development was disclosed in a social media post on Friday by the state government.
Presenting the report to hospital management last week, the Director of Clinical Services and Training and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dr Akinwunmi Akinyemi, expressed his delight at the milestone.
“It is with utmost pleasure and gratitude to God that I inform you there has been no maternal mortality in the past three months. This could only have been achieved through the relentless efforts of everyone in the department, alongside the cooperation of our hard-working nurses, laboratory staff, pharmacists, records unit, and support staff,” he said.
Dr Akinyemi also commended the hospital’s leadership, noting: “The immense support of the management and hospital leadership is highly appreciated.”
