In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the operations—carried out in Agbor and Warri—underscore the Command’s renewed commitment to sustaining public safety.

On 8 November 2025, at about 5:35 p.m., operatives attached to the Agbor Division, acting on credible intelligence, disrupted a suspected convergence of members of the Eiye Confraternity at Ojeifo Street by Iduwe, Agbor.

The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Michael Obekpa, led a swift deployment of patrol teams and the Civilian Anti-Cult Unit to the scene.

Two alleged cult members, Agu Nnamdi, of Ohumere Quarters, Agbor, and Promise Banco, of Iduwe Street, Agbor-Obi, were arrested during the operation.

Officers also recovered a locally fabricated pistol hidden inside a black nylon bag.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing gang members.

In a separate operation on 16 November 2025, surveillance operatives of ‘B’ Division, Warri, led by CSP Josephine Ekebuike, intercepted a tricyclist behaving suspiciously along Arubi Street, off DECO Road.

According to the statement, the tricycle rider, who was carrying two passengers, drove aggressively against traffic, prompting officers to give chase.

The pursuit continued into First Marine Quarters, where the suspects abandoned the tricycle and escaped through nearby streets.

Police recovered the tricycle and, upon searching it, found two locally made double-barrelled guns.

Also recovered were nine mobile phones, four power banks, and a screwdriver, all believed to have been in the possession of the fleeing suspects.

Police have since cordoned off the area and intensified stop-and-search operations to track down the culprits.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, reaffirmed the Command’s determination to dismantle criminal networks across Delta State.

He called on residents to remain vigilant and to continue providing useful information to the Police.

He assured the public that all reports would be treated with “the utmost confidentiality,” adding that the Command remains resolute in ensuring a safe and secure environment for all law-abiding citizens.
