A housewife, believed to be an indigene of Isoko in Delta State, has been arrested after allegedly killing her husband and another woman, and injuring a neighbour, in the Ighwre-Ovie area of Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The suspect, a mother of two, is currently being detained at the Ughelli Area Command of the Delta State Police.
The incident is said to have followed a domestic dispute reportedly linked to allegations of infidelity.
According to a source familiar with the incident, the woman had repeatedly accused her husband of engaging in extra-marital affairs.
The source claimed that tensions escalated on the day of the incident when the husband allegedly returned home intoxicated, leading to a violent confrontation that resulted in his death.
The source further alleged that during the disturbance, a female neighbour who attempted to intervene was attacked and sustained serious injuries.
She is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
It was also alleged that the suspect later went to the residence of another woman believed to be involved in the alleged affair, where a further fatal attack occurred.
Another resident in the area reportedly escaped harm and raised the alarm, which drew the attention of neighbours and led to the suspect’s arrest.
Efforts to reach the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, were unsuccessful.
However, a senior security source at the Delta State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect is in custody and that investigations are ongoing.
