A missing 16-year-old girl from Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State has become a source of grave concern for her family after it was revealed she was allegedly trafficked to Ghana by two women.
The victim, identified as Miss Oluebube Chukwuma, is said to have been taken by the suspects, named as Uzoma Nwabueze and Precious Monday.
Operatives from the Anambra State Police Command attached to Ozubulu Division reportedly arrested the two female suspects on the evening of 26th January 2026, acting on intelligence.
During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to involvement in the minor’s disappearance and disclosed that the victim is currently in Ghana.
Following this development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka.
The directive calls for a discreet and comprehensive investigation to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the girl’s relocation and to identify any other individuals potentially involved.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that further developments would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
