Rita Enemuru, Reporting

THE Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Aina Adesola, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, at the Government House, Asaba.

CP Adesola led members of the Command’s Management Team on the visit, which was aimed at formally introducing him to the Governor following his deployment and reaffirming the Police Command’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Delta State Government in the pursuit of improved security, law and order, and the protection of lives and property across the state.

Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner expressed gratitude to the Governor for the warm reception and for the sustained support extended by the state government to the Nigeria Police Force.

He assured the Governor that the Command would continue to adopt proactive, intelligence-led and community-oriented policing strategies, while deepening synergy with sister security agencies and key stakeholders to promote peace, safety and development in Delta State.

In his response, Governor Oborevwori expressed satisfaction with the posting of CP Aina Adesola to Delta State, describing it as a blessing to the state.

He noted that the Commissioner is well familiar with the state’s security landscape, having previously served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) in the Delta State Command before his promotion and redeployment.

The Governor said the Commissioner’s deep understanding of the state’s security dynamics would further enhance ongoing efforts to sustain peace and stability across Delta State. He also commended officers and men of the Command for their professionalism and dedication to duty, which, he said, had contributed to the relative calm enjoyed in the state.

He further urged residents of the state to continue to support the Police and other security agencies by providing timely and credible information, stressing that effective policing thrives on active public cooperation.

The Governor concluded by offering prayers for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for the Commissioner of Police and all security stakeholders as they work to ensure the continued safety and security of Delta State.
