Muhammed Abubakar, Reporting
IN a major victory against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents, troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have successfully neutralised Abu Khalid, the Second-in-Command of Boko Haram in the Sambisa Forest, along with 10 other terrorists.
The operation took place during a decisive night offensive in Borno State.
The operation, which occurred at around 11:00 p.m. in the Komala area of Konduga Local Government Area, came just a day after the elimination of another notorious commander, Julaibib, in the Timbuktu Triangle.
Abu Khalid, a key figure within the terrorist group, had been responsible for coordinating critical operations and logistics within the Sambisa region.
Following the successful engagement, troops seized five AK-47 rifles, magazines, bicycles, various logistical supplies, food items, and a large quantity of medical consumables. Remarkably, no casualties were reported among the troops.

With morale high, the Joint Task Force continues its clearance operations across the Sambisa Forest, Mandara Mountains, Timbuktu Triangle, and other terrorist strongholds in the North East.

The military high command praised the troops for their dedication and sacrifices, reinforcing their commitment to eliminating all terrorist elements and restoring lasting peace to the region.
