OFFICERS and men of the Nigeria Police Force from Area Command, Area K, on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, carried out a routine stop-and-search operation across parts of Badagry, Lagos State.
The exercise was led by the Area Commander, Area K, ACP A. A. Smith, alongside other senior officers within the command.
Speaking with a CityMood correspondent during the operation, ACP Smith described the exercise as part of ongoing policing efforts aimed at preventing crime and enhancing security within the area.
He stated that routine stop-and-search operations are among measures used by the police to monitor movement and maintain public safety.
The Area Commander also emphasized the need for professionalism, noting that officers are expected to remain disciplined and civil while carrying out their duties.
“Our duty is to protect lives and property, and we must remain disciplined and civil in our interactions at all times,” he said.
CityMood observed that officers conducted the exercise across different locations within the Badagry axis, with Divisional Police Officers from Badagry, Seme, Morogbo, and other divisions present.
The Area Commander and other senior officers were also seen on ground during the operation.
The exercise forms part of routine activities of the command within the area.
