Police said investigations are ongoing.

In a separate incident the same day at around 2:00pm, officers from Operation Delta Shield on stop-and-search duty along Kingsley Street intercepted a 26-year-old man, Chidebere Irunkwor.

A search led to the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size pistol, two live cartridges, and 10 euros in cash.

Preliminary inquiries suggest the suspect is a member of the Eiye Confraternity.

He remains in custody as investigations continue.
