18-Year-Old Apprentice Kills Boss With Pestle in Anambra

A 22-year-old suspected cultist and kidnapper, identified as Favour Izunna, also known as Njoku, has been arrested by police operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Unit in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to a press release issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Njoku is a member of a dreaded cult group known as the Vikings Confraternity, where he reportedly serves as an executioner, terrorising Obosi and its surrounding areas.

“Following the confession of a notorious suspect arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Cultism Unit, Enugwu Ukwu, on 30th April 2026, the Anambra State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in ongoing investigations,” Ikenga stated.

“The suspect, identified as Favour Izunna, a.k.a. Njoku, aged 22 years, is a member of a dreaded cult group known as the Vikings Confraternity, where he operates as an executioner responsible for terrorising Obosi and its environs.”

He added that with operational support from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, police officers recovered several items from a criminal hideout in Obosi, including a pump-action gun, five live cartridges, a locally made Beretta pistol, and seven rounds of 7.5mm live ammunition.

During interrogation, Njoku confessed to the brutal murder of about five people in Obosi, though he could clearly recall only three victims: Somtochukwu Alfred (male), Udechukwu Izuchukwu (male), and Izuchukwu Obi (male).

“He also disclosed the involvement of certain sponsors who allegedly contracted him to carry out the killings within the community,” Ikenga said.

The suspect further admitted to taking part in several kidnapping operations across Anambra State, naming Emeka Chukwuka (male) and Chinelo Onyeka (female) among his victims.

In response, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has ordered intensified efforts to track down and arrest other gang members and the alleged sponsors, who are currently at large.

Investigations are ongoing.
