AGBOR — The Delta State Police Command has impounded 31 vehicles during a coordinated visibility policing operation in Agbor, targeting traffic violations and vehicle registration offences.
The exercise, led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, took place on Friday, 3 July, covering the Agbor metropolis, major highways, entry and exit points, and border communities between Delta and Edo States. The operation aimed to reinforce police presence, deter criminal activity, and ensure compliance with traffic laws.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the impounded vehicles were seized for offences including non-display of registration plates, obscured or covered number plates, and expired vehicle particulars. All affected vehicles will be charged before a competent court.
Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and strategic enforcement. He urged motorists to comply fully with all registration requirements, stressing that strict enforcement is vital to public safety, crime prevention, and the maintenance of law and order across the state.
