ASABA — The Delta State Police Command has impounded twenty-one vehicles during an intelligence-led enforcement operation conducted across Abraka and Ozoro, as part of its ongoing commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and improving public safety.
The operation, which took place on July 21, 2026, at approximately 1500 hours, was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, who headed command operatives on an enforcement patrol targeting traffic violations and other offences.
During the operation, 21 vehicles were impounded for various infractions, including non-display of registration number plates, covered number plates, and expired vehicle particulars. The affected vehicles will now be subjected to appropriate legal and administrative processes.
Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, reiterated that vehicles without proper identification or valid documentation pose significant security risks and can be exploited to facilitate criminal activities.
The CP therefore urged motorists to comply with all extant traffic and vehicle registration regulations, warning that the command will continue intelligence-led enforcement operations across the State to promote public safety, strengthen security, and ensure strict compliance with the law.
The enforcement operation underscores the Command’s determination to tackle motoring offences that could potentially compromise security in the state.
Motorists have been advised to ensure their vehicles are properly registered and documented to avoid running afoul of the law.
