ASABA — The Delta State Police Command has received a significant boost to its operational capacity following the donation of two Toyota Sienna vehicles by the Warri South Local Government Council.
The official handover took place on 7th August, with the Executive Chairman of Warri South LGA, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, presenting the vehicles to the Command for deployment to the Ubeji and Daudu Police Divisions respectively.
Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, who received the vehicles on behalf of the Command, expressed profound appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a testament to the growing synergy between the police and local government stakeholders in the fight against crime.
“The provision of these operational vehicles will significantly enhance mobility and strengthen the capacity of both Divisions to effectively discharge their policing responsibilities within Warri South Local Government Area,” CP Oyeniyi stated.
The donation underscores the Command’s commitment to fostering robust partnerships with community stakeholders, recognising that effective policing requires collaborative efforts from all sectors of society.
Local government officials present at the handover ceremony reiterated their support for the police, pledging continued collaboration to ensure the safety and security of residents across the LGA.
The two Sienna vehicles are expected to improve response times and patrol coverage in the Ubeji and Daudu areas, further bolstering the Command’s crime-fighting capabilities in the region.
