Delta Police in Double Victory: Stolen Car Recovered Within Hours, Two Drug Suspects Nabbed

ASABA — The Delta State Police Command has recorded a series of operational successes in a single day, recovering a stolen vehicle within hours of its theft and apprehending two suspected drug dealers with a substantial haul of Tramadol in separate operations across the state.

Stolen Toyota Corolla Recovered In Record Time

In a swift display of police efficiency, operatives of ‘A’ Division, Warri, successfully recovered a stolen ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla with registration number WW-579MD on 13th August.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from where it was parked at Awani Close, Ajamugha, Warri. Detectives immediately launched a coordinated operation in conjunction with the Dragon Patrol Team, leading to the recovery of the vehicle along Winners Church Road, Ughelli, barely two hours after the report was received.

Police sources confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspects connected with the crime.

Two Arrested In Drug Bust

In a separate operation on the same day, operatives of the police patrol team attached to Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA during a stop-and-search along Nnebisi Road, Asaba.

A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered 132 sachets of 100mg Tramadol, leading to the immediate arrest of two suspects: Hillary Osondu, 54, and Abubakar Bello, also 54.

Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations into the illicit drug operation continue.

Commander Commends Operatives

Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, has commended the operatives for their prompt response and professionalism, charging officers across the Command to sustain the momentum through proactive and intelligence-led policing.

The CP further urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly provide the Police with credible information on suspicious persons and activities, assuring that the Command will continue to deploy available resources towards the prevention and detection of crime across the State.
